GTAS founder and CEO Duane Futch is a highly accomplished influencer in the corporate travel and aviation industries, offering visionary thinking and business leadership skills in an increasingly complex market. Duane consults to an array of North American and international corporations and governments, leveraging his knowledge and experience in corporate travel and aviation management over the course of his 40 year career. Among his previous positions, Duane was Vice President of Global Government Programs at Sabre Travel Network and Director of the Aviation, Travel, and Leisure Travel Division at the international retail titan Walmart Stores.

 

Duane is widely recognized as a dynamic, results-oriented leader with a consistent track record of developing, implementing and managing innovative corporate programs and solutions that improve operations and outperform defined financial goals – while effectively controlling expenses.  Under his leadership, the Wal-Mart Travel Department was named “Travel Department of the Year” by the Airline Reporting Corporation and the Aviation Department was named “Flight Department of the Year” by Professional Pilot magazine. In recognition of his achievements, he also received the “Travel Manager of the Year Award” from Business Travel News. In addition, Duane was presented with the George Skurla (former Grumman Chairman) Award for his contributions to the aviation and aeronautics industry.

 

Duane obtained both his Bachelor’s Degree in Air Commerce (Economics) and Associate Degree in Flight Technology from the Florida Institute of Technology. He also holds an FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate, and he is a Certified Flight Instructor and a former FAA Designated Air Carrier Check Airman.
